1972 Fender Stratocaster, Sunburst + OHSC + TAGS

Description

1972 Fender Stratocaster, finished in its original 3-tone sunburst. A beautifully aged example thanks to its Nitrocellulose finish, which has aged gracefully over the years, adding a unique patina and character that only comes with time and use. As sometimes seen in the 70s this example has a Poly sealer coat, followed by a nitro colour and clear coat, a combination that has resulted in some very cool play wear and lacquer checking.
This guitar has all teh period defining features you expect to see - a 3-bolt neck model with the distinctive bullet truss rod, large headstock with bold Fender decal and staggered polepiece pickups. The neck features a comfortable medium C profile, which offers a balanced feel that works well for a variety of playing styles. It has been refretted and the nut has been replaced, ensuring that the guitar plays beautifully and feels good across the fingerboard.
The guitar’s electronics are mostly original. A 5-way switch has been installed and some of the solder joints are on the messy side. The pickup solder has been disturbed indicating potential rewinds, however the wire is the correct plain enamel type for the period, and overall it is an excellent sounding example delivering the clarity and character you'd want from a vintage Strat.
At its core, this 1972 Stratocaster exudes a genuine vintage vibe, with a tone that is both rich and dynamic. Whether you’re playing blues, rock, or anything in between, the tonal character of this guitar shines through in spades. The neck feels comfortable and easy to navigate, and the overall setup is excellent.
All in all a superb example of a vintage Fender that offers a lot of value, especially considering the current market for Custom Shop instruments. It comes complete with its original hard case, tremolo arm, ash tray, manual, and warranty card. Whether you're an enthusiast looking to add a piece of Fender history to your collection or a player seeking an exceptional instrument with bags of character, this 1972 Fender Stratocaster is an excellent choice.
