ATB Guitars – Melksham, Wiltshire
Full-time, permanent | Salary depending on experience

ATB Guitars is one of Europe’s leading specialists in high-end vintage guitars, dealing in some of the finest and most desirable instruments from the 20th century.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Guitar Technician / Luthier to join our small team and take responsibility for the technical and workshop side of the business.

This is a rare opportunity to work hands-on with an exceptional and constantly changing selection of vintage and high-end guitars, while helping us develop a first-class in-house workshop for ATB and our customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Inspecting and assessing incoming instruments
  • Setting up and preparing ATB-owned and consignment stock
  • Fret dressing, levelling and refrets
  • Nut and saddle work
  • Electronics diagnosis and repair
  • Structural and general guitar repairs
  • Identifying previous repairs, modifications and potential issues
  • Assisting with the technical side of vintage guitar appraisals
  • Carrying out customer repairs and servicing
  • Helping develop and manage ATB’s in-house workshop

About You

We’re looking for someone with genuine professional experience working on guitars and a very high standard of workmanship.

You’ll be confident carrying out setups, fretwork, electronics and general repairs on high value instruments, with the experience and judgement to properly assess an instrument before starting work.

Experience with vintage Fender, Gibson, Martin, Gretsch and other high-end instruments would be a major advantage. You’ll be methodical, careful and comfortable working independently, while being able to communicate technical findings and repair recommendations clearly with the wider team and our customers.

Formal luthiery or qualifications are welcome, but practical experience, sound judgement and a consistently high standard of workmanship are more important to us.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary, depending on experience
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Workplace pension
  • Statutory holiday entitlement
  • Free on-site parking
  • Friendly, informal working environment
  • An exceptional variety of vintage and high-end instruments to work on
  • The opportunity to help shape and develop ATB’s workshop and repair service

Exceptional candidates with extensive vintage instrument experience are encouraged to apply.

Operations Coordinator

ATB Guitars – Melksham, Wiltshire

30 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 9am–3pm
£22,000–£24,000 per year, depending on experience

Proposed start date: Late October 2026

ATB Guitars is one of Europe’s leading specialists in high-end vintage guitars, working with customers and collectors throughout the UK and internationally.

We're looking for a friendly, highly organised and proactive Operations Coordinator to become the engine room of our small team.

This is a varied role covering customer communication, administration, stock coordination and logistics. You'll be the person keeping track of what's coming in, what's going out, what needs chasing and, importantly, what needs to happen next.

The role will include:

  • Being the first point of contact for customers by phone and email
  • Managing the showroom appointment diary and welcoming visiting customers
  • Coordinating incoming stock, courier collections and customer drop-offs
  • Logging, labelling and maintaining accurate stock and customer records
  • Managing consignment paperwork, eSign agreements and follow-ups
  • Coordinating with our photographer and guitar technician to keep new stock moving efficiently through the process
  • Preparing invoices and processing customer payments
  • Arranging UK and international shipments, including commercial documentation
  • Managing after-sales enquiries, follow-ups and review requests
  • Keeping track of outstanding actions and making sure nothing falls through the cracks
  • Helping improve and implement administrative systems and processes as the business grows
  • General office, supplier and day-to-day business administration
  • Occasionally attending trade shows with the team

About you

We're looking for someone who is exceptionally organised, reliable and good with people. You'll enjoy taking ownership, keeping track of multiple things at once and creating order in a busy small-business environment.

You'll need excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills and a warm, confident telephone manner. You'll be comfortable using Mac OS and learning different software and online platforms, and confident taking responsibility for tasks and seeing them through from start to finish.

Just as importantly, you'll be comfortable working independently and as part of a very small team, often alongside just one or two other people.

Previous experience in administration, operations, office coordination, customer service, e-commerce or a similar role would be an advantage.

A full UK driving licence would be preferred as the role may occasionally involve local collections/drop-offs and sharing driving duties when attending trade shows.

No guitar industry experience is required. Although you'll be working around some of the world's most desirable vintage guitars, this is first and foremost an operations and administration role rather than a guitar sales position. An interest in guitars, music or vintage culture is a plus but by no means essential.

We're a small, friendly and informal business, and for the right person there's plenty of opportunity to take ownership of the role, introduce ideas and help shape the way we work as ATB Guitars continues to grow.
