Late 60s Hofner Galaxie + HSC

Description

Hofner has a long history of musical instrument manufacture stretching back to the 19th Century. If any company is set to survive it has to follow trends and their guitar output has become part of legend in no small part due to the popularity of a quartet from Liverpool. The Galaxie was an export version of the Model 176, a flagship solid body answer to the American model, available in the UK through Selmer exclusively between 1964 and the early 1970’s.

This guitar is in great condition. There are very few marks on the body and the finish is still vibrant.

The neck is in great condition. The original frets have plenty of life left in them and the fretboard is in excellent shape as is the headstock and logo.

The hardware shows some signs of pitting but on a whole is in excellent condition. The tremolo works very well.

Electrically everything looks to be correct, however the neck pickup is slightly weaker than the other two and the bridge pickup tone control appears not to work. There could have been some work done to the wiring but everything else seems OK.

The guitar comes with a hardshell case.

This guitar sounds great. Plenty of options with the three Franz Pix Staple Nova Sonic humbuckers. It plays wonderfully and the trem is  joy, staying in tune whatever you do to it.

Looks and sound to match, another something different for the collection. Grab it before it gets away.
