1964 Fender Stratocaster Sonic Blue refin + HSC

Description

Beautiful 1964 Fender Stratocaster in stunning Sonic Blue refinish.

One of Fender’s most iconic shades, this is an excellent refinish, reliced over time it seems to really complement the hardware and plastics

The neck has thankfully been left alone, the finish having been worn wonderfully. The fretboard is in excellent shape and the new frets have plenty of life left in them. The original decal is quite worn and there's evidence of slight cigarette burn which certainly adds to the look and vibe. At just 3.3Kg it is also a nice lightweight one.

Plastics and pickguard are great shape and the pickguard is totally crack free. These nitrate guard are particularly prone to warping and cracking so it's always nice to find one that hasn’t too much. In fact this guard is in good shape aside from an enlarged truss rod access at the butt end of the neck.

Hardware shows the expected signs of use.

Inside there are signs of some soldering over time though mostly correct parts are present. There is also a new cloth covered lead running to the jack socket. PIckups are two correct black bottom (one has been rewound) and a grey bottom, 1965 pickup that has been painted black! One pot has been changed but still in the period style big rivet.

The guitar comes with a non original hardshell case.

Sonically we run the gamut from smooth neck to biting bridge that never gets too spikey or harsh. The neck feels very comfortable and the new frets give it reassuring feel. All three, original black bottom pickups are strong and evenly balanced with classic pre-CBS black bottom, bell like tonal qualities.

A very lovely 1964 Stratocaster, with a nice comfortable neck in this condition, what more do you want? We do not think it will last that long...
