1963 Fender Duo-Sonic + OHSC

Description

From the beginning, Leo had seen that student models were a way to keep his instruments in players’ hands as they progressed. Released in June of 1956, the Musicmaster and Duo Sonics became the gateway to many aspiring guitarists.

This guitar is in stunning condition. The Olympic white finish is almost entirely free of any damage. There are a few knocks and scuffs a little fade but nothing that detracts from the look of the instrument.

The neck, fretboard and frets are in equally fantastic shape with the gloss finish of the lacquer really showcasing the maple of the neck. The neck date reads as September 63.

The hardware is in great shape. The pickup covers are a little cracked and the pickguard is in fine shape. The top e tuner is missing a section. This is common with this style of tuner and does not affect its operation.

Electrically everything is correct with the pot dates reading week 29 of 1963

The guitar comes with its correct hardshell case.

Even though this is a short scale guitar (22.5”) and aimed at students, there is no doubt that these are well made instruments . The neck feels comfortable and easy to play, the no-frills nature of the electronics yields a classy tone. This guitar certainly punches above its weight.

A great guitar with so much potential and being one  of the last few to leave Fullerton in this finish, this is a must have for any collection. Grab this oner before it gets away.
