1964 Gibson ES-335 TDC, Cherry, Bigsby + OHSC

Description

A classic year, 1964 Gibson ES-335 TDC anyone?
Debuting in 1958 with its iconic design, the ES-335 and its siblings formed the trifecta spearheading the Gibson semi acoustic range. 1960 saw the introduction of the cherry finish that became a defining feature of Gibson guitars to come.
Resplendent in its almost unfaded finish, this guitar looks too good. A great example of that classic cherry colour, this guitar has been well cared for and is in great condition. Both front and back are free of any real wear. The back has a few marks but nothing too severe.
This beautiful guitar is stunning and totally correct. We can't find a thing out of place on the hardware, electrics or finish front. Both pickups are nice and strong, original PAT number sticker humbuckers from 1964 and all hardware is correct including the nickel ABR-1 with nylon saddles.
Original frets are in excellent shape with lots of life left in them. You won't be disappointed by the way this guitar plays, or sounds. The only real signs of play wear are on the back of the neck as you can see in the pictures. The cherry finish is strong, vibrant and unfaded. There are a few very small dings here and there but nothing of note.
Both pickups on this guitar sound great and are very evenly balanced. The neck pickup really accentuates the wood tones, it's warm and full of overtones without losing any definition whilst the bridge pickup delivers that bite and airiness typical of these early Pat no. pickups.
Worthy of note is the fact that this guitar originally came from the collection of Adrian Ingram, noted jazz guitarist and educator. Included is the correct black case with yellow lining that is also in excellent shape, just like the guitar. All in all, a beautiful example of a classic, desirable year ES-335.
