1963 Fender Stratocaster Fiesta Red near MINT + tags + OHSC

Description

If you are looking for a pre-CBS Fiesta Red Strat then this is how you should be buying one. No funny business, no issues, original solder, original finish with no dodgy sunburst undercoats and everything totally correct and NO, not a Selmer refin.

This is a beautiful, original guitar with not a single solder joint disturbed, correct hardware, frets, blonde Tolex case (even that is near MINT), All three totally original pickups ring with classic, black bottom, pre-CBS, bell like loveliness and are all strong and perfectly balanced. In fact this is everything you want and expect, a classic vintage Strat to be.

Medium chunky C profile neck with just about zero wear on the back of the neck to feel as comfortable as your favourite leather glove. Completely crack free, original green guard which has perfectly matched, aged plastic parts. There is not a thing out of place on this sensational Strat.

This is without a doubt one of THE finest examples we have ever seen and is true investment grade.

It does have a few very minor marks here and there and there is some very minor checking on the front in places and a bit more on the back. There is also some very tiny patches of paint flaked off the inside of the upper horn (see pictures) but overall I would say this is a almost MINT condition guitar and a prime candidate to be the centrepiece of a classic guitar collection. There are no touch ups anywhere on the guitar and it black lights perfectly.

Neck date is March 63, all three pots date to the 24th week of 63 and serial number is a late 1962, pre L series number. It has the pre-63 desert sand undercoat and was probably one of the last finished with desert sand before they started to use white.

Included is the original guarantee card from Selmer in the UK, the strap, lead and polishing cloth. Also included is a magazine article about this guitar published in Guitarist dated June 2016.

Playing wise, it plays like a new guitar with no issues at all and sound wise it is as good as the best we have ever had here.. and we have had quite a few!

This guitar is to many a dream guitar and considering that its rare to find one as original as this and one especially in this amazing museum grade condition...
