2010 PRS GG-5 String Bass, Honey Gold Burst + OHSC
A flawless example of a rare PRS Private Stock GG 5-String Bass, a meticulously crafted instrument that showcases the finest materials and PRS’s renowned artistry. This bass - part of PRS's exclusive Private Stock line - was originally purchased from Paul Reed Smith himself at PRS's "Meet Your Maker" tour in 2011. It carries all the hallmarks of a world-class instrument of the highest quality, blending stunning aesthetics with impeccable playability and tone.
Crafted with top-tier tonewoods, this GG 5-String Bass features a stunning quilted Maple top finished in the beautifully rich Honey Gold Burst: a high gloss Nitro finish giving the bass a striking and luxurious aesthetic. The Sapele body is equally as stunning with wonderful quilted flame contrasted beautifully by the Curly Rock flame Maple neck and Ebony fingerboard.
The attention to detail continues with the Mother of Pearl bird inlays on the fingerboard, Mother of Pearl side dots, and the Ebony headstock veneer with the iconic Private Stock eagle inlay, a signature of PRS’s finest creations.
In terms of electronics, this bass is fitted with the active GG Bass pickups in both the treble and bass positions, designed specifically for the Gary Grainger model. These pickups are paired with GG Bass 5 electronics, allowing a huge range of tonal options via the pickup blend, and Bass/Mid/Treb boost/cut tone controls. The hardware on this bass is equally top-notch, with a gold GG Bass bridge and gold Schaller tuners.
This bass comes in its original Private Stock leather case, a perfect complement to the luxurious build quality of the instrument. The combination of the high-gloss nitro finish, breathtaking wood choices, and meticulous craftsmanship ensures that this bass is not only a fantastic instrument but a true work of art.
In mint condition, having rarely been played by the current owner, this 2010 PRS Private Stock GG Bass is testament to PRS’s quality, craftsmanship and innovation.
