1991 Gibson EDS-1275, Heritage Cherry + OHSC
Superb, 1991 Gibson EDS-1275 in a stunning Heritage Cherry finish. Introduced by Gibson in 1963 as the evolution of the original hollow body double neck instruments of the late 1950’s, the new EDS-1275 featured the new thin double cutaway body in line with the new SG solid guitar. As a custom order instrument they carried a prohibitively expensive $640 price tag in 1963. Famous users include Jimmy Page, Don Felder, Steve Miller and Earl Hooker among others.
Featuring a solid Mahogany body, one piece 12 and 6 string Maple necks with bound Indian Rosewood fretboards with Mother of Pearl Split parallelogram inlays. Four Gibson Humbuckers, 490R and 490T models with Alnico II magnets. 2 Vol, 2 Tone controls (one for each neck) with CTS Pots. A 3-way pickup switch and a 3-way neck selector. Hardware includes Schaller "Gibson Deluxe" tuners with keystone buttons, a 5-ply pickguard and 2-ply Trussrod cover, Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridges and proprietary stop-plate tailpieces.
The guitar is in great, original condition throughout. There are light marks from use, a small touch up on the cutaway between the necks and some light worming to the back of the guitar but otherwise it has aged very well. Playability is excellent thanks to the guitar's 43mm nut width and medium-slim neck profile.
The guitar weighs in at 5.03kg and comes with it’s original case.
