Super rare 1980 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with a stunning flame top, you know you want to read on…

This has quite the top. Such a rare sight, these guitar are so often seen with three-piece plain tops. There are some examples though, made during the early 80's, that have a two piece, book-matched top such as this one. Finished in stunning sunburst, this is quite the prospect. There isn’t much in the way of damage, just the odd scuff or mark.

The three piece maple neck shows very little wear. The fretboard is in great shape as are the frets with some life left  in them.

The headstock, in the same way as the body, has a few marks.

The bridge is an era correct Nashville bridge. The strap buttons and screws have been replaced, the other parts are correct as are the plastics.

Electronically everything is correct with pots dating to week 10 of 1980. The pickups are correct, similarly dating to 1980.

The guitar comes with its correct hardshell case.

The unamplified tone has plenty of sustain, as you’d expect from a good Gibson. The mini humbuckers bring a brightness without being as muddy as could be the case with full size humbuckers of the same period.

A stunning guitar that looks and sounds the part. Grab it before it get away…
