1971 Fender Stratocaster Nr MINT + OHSC

Description

1971 Fender Stratocaster in near MINT condition?

This is all original or correct and is in stunning condition with hardly any wear to the finish. The sunburst hasn't faded at all and shows no real signs of wear. In fact the previous owner told us that the guitar had been purchased new as an 18th birthday present but the recipient died soon after. The shop owner took pity on the parents and bought back the guitar, keeping it under the bed for over thirty years before selling on. As such the neck is still glossy and feels very comfortable. There is no sign of any fret wear on the original frets.

Under the hood we find classic grey bottom pickups, all dated 1971 in brilliant shape with no rewinds at all. All solder is undisturbed as you can see from images.

The guitar comes with the correct hardshell case.

This has the classic, staggered pole pickups that you have heard on so many recordings. It is a rare transition model made in 1971 with the three bolt neck and stamped saddles, plus the single string tree.

Looking for Hendrix tones? If you’ve read this far then surely that’s the case! This guitar does not disappoint. Plenty of that late 60’s spanky tone which is so unique to guitars from this era. Neck pickup has that chewy quality, the middle and bridge ramping up the treble content.

It has been some time since we have come across one this clean. For those of you who want that tone, this guitar certainly delivers, Spanish castle magic and all…
