1969 Fender Telecaster Bigsby Natural Refin + HSC
This guitar certainly looks the part. Its unclear what colour it used to be but the finish has been stripped back very well. It's also clear that it hasn’t always had the bigsby fitted as is evident by the string ferrules in the back. You can also see the additional holes for a standard tele bridge in the top. Aside from this its in very good condition with only a few minor knocks.
The neck has been refinished in poly and is in good shape. There are a few marks and scratches again but nothing serious. The fretboard has been sanded when it was refretted and looks in good shape.
Hardware shows signs of corrosion but nothing too extensive. The pickguard is a good quality reproduction.
Electrically the neck pickup seems correct though the wires have been changed. The bridge pickup is a Bare Knuckle unit. The tone pot is from 1965, week 30. The capacitor and switch are correct . The volume pot is from 1977.
The guitar comes a hardshell case.
This guitar delivers that classic tele tone without taking your head off. The neck pickup has that chewy quality that holds its own so well when combined with the bridge pickup. Once in that bridge position, there is a depth to the sound which is so uniquely Telecaster and flies in the face of your expectations of this guitar.
Looking for some vintage tones at a reasonable price? This might be what your e looking for. Grab it before it's gone…
