Here's a very nice and reasonably priced, 1968 maple cap neck, Fender Telecaster with a recent, body only refin in sunburst. Some replaced parts but the essentials are all there...

Original neck finish on a lovely feeling and nicely worn maple cap neck dated July 1968. Two extra string trees have been added at some stage. Refret with slightly larger frets and new nut. No planing on fingerboard so still a nice 7.25" radius and some very cool, organic wear spots to be seen. Original or correct tuners are on it now but others have been fitted at some stage.

Body is original late 1968 with the centre route and it has no extra routes or holes patched up anywhere and is also a nice light weight. It has had a sunburst refin, which in some ways is a shame as judging by the neck wear it was probably wonderfully worn too. We estimate the refin was done in the last 10 years or so but we have no idea who did it. It has not been reliced to match the neck so it looks a little odd being in such good condition compared to the neck but if you want it reliced we are sure this can easily be done...

Pickguard is a decent repro replacement. Electrics, pots etc are correct, neck pickup is correct, bridge pickup is correct but could be from 1969 as it has plastic lead outs however if this is a late '68 then it could be right. Rest of Harare looks good.

It's a nice player, sounds great and the feeling of that neck is just glorious! It also happens to look rather good too we think..
