The 1967 Rickenbacker 366-12 in Jetglo is an iconic 12-string electric guitar that showcases both the distinctive design and innovative features for which Rickenbacker is famous. With its original Jetglo finish, a sleek and glossy black that adds to its classic aesthetic appeal, this guitar exudes vintage style and craftsmanship from the golden era of rock music and has a cool trick up its sleeve too..!

The 366-12 is known for its unique ability to convert from a 12-string guitar to a 6-string through Rickenbacker’s patented "Comb" system, a mechanical feature that allows players to "mute" six of the strings, effectively transforming it into a 6-string guitar on the fly. This innovation offers musicians an unprecedented level of versatility in a single instrument.

The semi-hollow body design, made from maple, contributes to the guitar’s bright, jangly tone that’s characteristic of Rickenbacker guitars, made famous by artists like George Harrison and Roger McGuinn. The bound body and checkerboard binding around the back give the guitar a high-end, detailed look.

Its maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with classic triangular pearloid inlays, providing smooth playability. The distinctive dual "toaster top" pickups deliver the unmistakable chime and clarity associated with Rickenbacker’s 12-string guitars. These pickups give a balance between warm, rich lows and sparkling highs, making it a perfect fit for jangly chords, arpeggios, and shimmering leads.

Cosmetically, the Jetglo finish offers a sleek and sophisticated look, contrasted by the guitar’s chrome hardware and Rickenbacker’s iconic "R" tailpiece. The guitar has a double-cutaway body shape, allowing easier access to the higher frets, and the headstock is noticeably elongated to accommodate the additional 12 tuning pegs.

This particular example is in superb condition with no breaks, repairs or touch ups anywhere. The hardware is still gleaming with little signs of corrosion and it plays superbly well with a nice, low action.

We do not see many of these here which is a shame as they are so much fun!
