1965/66 Marshall JTM-45 Plexi model1985

Description

One of the finest examples of an original 1965/6 Marshall, block logo JTM 45 Model Plexi we have seen of late...

Where it all began. So much more than a bassman copy, this amplifier has defined the sound of British rock guitar, what more is there to say.

Cosmetically this head is in superb condition. The original Tolex is in amazing condition. The string is unbroken and the block logo is correct and unbroken. There are a few marks on the plexiglass panel but nothing major.

This one has the iconic silver disc knobs that are totally original and would date it to the late 1965, early 1966 period. It has the tube rectifier and GEC KT 66 power tubes.

As you can see, the bulgin power inlet has not been changed and the amp comes with the original power cable provided by Marshall. We would recommend finding a more modern alternative.

Internally it is all pretty much original, the important iron works are original and even most of the valves are original or NOS replacements.

This head was owned and used by Mick Grabham who is a well known English guitarist who played with bands such as Pocrul Harem no less! Mick is also an expert in these amps and has maintained this to his own high specifications and you can be sure this one sounds as good as any JTM out there...

This is a great sounding head, which will come as no surprise I’m sure. Plenty of those classic tones on tap with enough volume to keep up.

From Marshall’s first iconic period, this would make an excellent addition to any collection or even out on the highways and byways, smoking up stages wherever it lands. Grab it before it gets away…
