A super cool, player-grade 1963 Fender Jaguar refinished in Sherwood Green. A great looking finish that works really well with the tortoiseshell celluloid guard. This is a great opportunity to acquire a range topping, pre-CBS Fender for not far off Custom Shop money!

The Maple neck is date stamped May ’63 and features a veneer Rosewood board with clay dot inlays. The neck is nicely worn and the carve is a comfortable medium C profile that feels great in the hand. It's been refretted in the past, the nut is changed and the fingerboard planed. It's currently setup with 11-46 gauge strings and plays well.

The inimitable original tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard has aged beautifully and compliments the finish well despite this combo not quite staying true to vintage norms. Other changes include repro tuners with plugged holes visible, a small hole to the front of the headstock from a previously added string tree a changed volume pot, new decal, some wiring and a repro neck plate.

Tonally, this one delivers the bright, cutting sound that makes Jaguars so great—plenty of snap and sparkle with a uniquely percussive attack that cuts through nicely. The rhythm circuit has one changed wire, the trem works smoothly, and the short scale adds to the slinky, fast-playing feel.

Complete with its original 'no logo' Fender hard case, this is a golden opportunity to grab a pre-CBS Jaguar in a really cool finish, with all the vintage feel and tone you’d want—but without the collector-grade price tag. A great-sounding, great-playing piece with loads of character!
