1962 Gibson ES-330 TDC + OSSC Near MINT

Description

Here’s one of the finest examples of a short lived incarnation of the Gibson ES-330 in beautiful, deep cherry red that we have ever had…

This is a version Gibson only made for a few months in 1962 when they changed over to block fingerboard markers but still had black P-90 pickup covers. We think it is probably one of the most beautiful versions of this classic thinline, hollow body guitar you can get.

Near MINT condition with only a few minuscule dings here and there, this guitar is also completely original or correct and it does not look like a screw has been turned anywhere.

The medium neck profile is super comfortable, and the original frets have plenty of life left in them and feel great. There is no fretboard wear and it is beautifully setup with a nice low action all across the fretboard.

Both original vintage P-90’s with original windings sound classic, strong and evenly balanced. All pots work well, and at the wonderfully light weight of just 2.72kg it is also a pleasure to wear.

The all original finish has no touch ups or overspray and of course there are no cracks or repairs anywhere, structural or otherwise. Even the headstock, usually the first thing to get a bit dog eared, is in amazingly fine condition with ultra clean and sharp lines. The tuners, as you can see are all correct, including the tips and like all of the ret of the hardware, is in remarkable, largely corrosion free condition and still with a lot of gleam to them.

It also happens to be one of the nicest we have had here from a playing perspective, all across and up and down the fingerboard it is a very easy instrument to play in any style.

Without a doubt, a very fine example of a stunning looking all original guitar that will suit collectors, players and tone merchants alike…
