Mid 1962 Fender Stratocaster in a superb refin in fiesta red. Compare it with our 62 original fiesta red - it is really good. The refin was probably done a while ago as it backlights and one of the previous owners bought it as an original (ouch!).

Neck has also been refinished and decal replaced. It's been refretted with larger frets and has a new nut. The neck date reads July '62. The tuners are string tree are correct and no bigger tuners have been fitted.

All hardware is correct except the saddles which are good quality, aged repros. All is in excellent condition considering. The plastics too are in excellent condition and are correct.

Electrically, all three pickups are original pre-CBS black bottoms and all three have been rewound with period correct looking windings. Both correct pots are all dated week 34 of 1960. One tone control has been changed however the original is in the case.

As with most of these early 60's Strats, this guitar plays and sounds fantastic. Pickups are wonderfully balanced and deliver a wide spectrum of tones. There is a certain magic to these guitars, like they'd reached a zenith in the manufacturing process, a finesse that is maybe lost in later examples as the process becomes further streamlined to speed up construction. 

A bucket list guitar certainty, don't let this one slip away.
