1958 Fender Tweed Champ 5F1
A real survivor, the narrow panel tweed Champ sold in huge numbers, popular with students and professionals looking for that celebrated tweed tone in a compact package. Unlike its bigger brothers, the Champ remained almost entirely unchanged between 1955 and 1964, bringing the tweed era to a close.
This is a fantastically clean example, with no damage to the tweed. The control panel is in great condition showing no signs of bubbling with the silk screened text still clear.
The amp is still fitted with its correct speaker. Internally there have been a few repairs to keep the amp working correctly and safely though thankfully this has been kept to just some capacitors. The correct output transformer is still present.
As you’d hope, this amp sounds fantastic. With the volume set above half we’re straight into classic tweed territory and a sound that has to be heard to be believed. There is no doubt why this is such a lauded amp.
These don’t come up for sale very often in this super clean condition and its been a while since we saw one this clean so grab it before it slips away…
