Stunning 1952 Gibson all Gold Les Paul Standard, enough said… 

This is a wonderful guitar and one of the nicest all gold Les Pauls we have ever had here. The all gold finish has retained its gorgeous lustre. There are a few dings though these aren't extensive. There is no sign of greening to the finish on the body which can happen in some cases. 

The neck shows more wear as you expect with the finish having greened. The fretboard and frets are in great shape with plenty of life left in both. It has had a recent refret with sympathetically sized frets. Correct tuners are present with no sign of any others being fitted. The decal is still strong and the whole guitar is a totally superb example.

The bridge shows no signs of corrosion and the plastics too are well preserved. The guitar comes with a mojoaxe compensated replacement tailpiece too for those of you that want to wrap the strings over.

The electronics are all correct. All the solder joints are unmolested and the pickups are both strong and very evenly balanced.

The guitar comes with its correct Lifton 4 latch case in great condition.

Sonically this guitar is a joy. Both pickups are well balanced and deliver those 50s tones with aplomb. There’s plenty of scope here, from Hairy Fuzzy neck tones through smoother combined sounds to the bitting snarl of the bridge pickup. It will make you question why you need any other guitar in your life.

An infrequent visitor here at ATB at the moment, this Goldtop will not disappoint. Grab it before it gets way… We think it will be a while before an example as nice as this crosses our paths.
