MINT condition Martin acoustic, not only that but hand selected at great expense by its one and only owner...

Sorry, this item was sold out.

The one and only owner of this MINT condition Martin already had one he purchased a couple of weeks ago however he was so knocked out with the tone of this particular example, he traded the one he had to the loss of around £750 just so he could ge this superb sounding example…

When it comes to steel string flattops, Martin wrote the book. But what do you do when those classic instruments that you built threaten to overshadow your current output? You take an old guitar to the Smithsonian and phone up the scientists.

This D18 is a stunning example in mint condition, exemplifying the tone that Martins are famous for. The care taken in selecting the woods is evident throughout, hallmarks of the craftsmanship and attention to details are clear everywhere you look. Having handled a few vintage examples as well as some modern instruments, this guitar holds true to what the company are striving for with this range and delivers that classic tonal texture without the quirks that can so often mar a more affordable vintage guitar.

What Martin say...

Here to remind you why you fell in love with us in the first place, the new Authentics are constructed the old way - with hide glue, throughout, and historically-accurate detailing confirmed by using a CAT scan machine located at the Smithsonian Institute. Based on a 1939 D-18 in our museum, this guitar features genuine mahogany back and sides, an Adirondack spruce top, using an authentic circa 1939 bracing pattern. Period-correct “18” Authentic-style appointments, with an Authentic neck barrel and heel, complete this piece. Martin’s new VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM® (VTS) is employed for the top and braces. The new Martin VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM® uses a unique recipe that is based on the historic torrefaction system. The VTS acts much like a time machine in which Martin can target certain time periods and age the top/braces to that era. This focused method allows Martin’s craftsmen and women to recreate not only the pleasing visual aesthetics of a vintage guitar, but also reproduce the special tones previously reserved for vintage instruments.
