Exceptional example of a super rare, all original and mega rare Daphne blue Strat from 1965 having just had the single owner...
Sorry, this item was sold out.
1965 transitional period Fender Stratocaster finished in all original and MEGA rare Daphne blue with small headstock and transitional logo plus original case, letter from original owner and some case candy. One of the very best Strats to ever grace our humble stores…
Yes, this is a Strat well worthy of the centrefold position of any guitar porn publication, not to mention the centrepiece of a serious Strat collection. One Doctor owner who had this bought for him when he was just 10 years old. He has kept it is remarkable condition, never gigged professionally with it and treasured this incredible guitar all his life until just a few weeks ago when he finally decided that someone else should be the custodian of his rare and beautiful pride and joy.
It is near MINT condition, there is just a few small dings here and there, some fine checking and a small amount of grime on the metal parts. This is one guitar that we can say with 100% confidence is totally all original. There is not a single screw out of place, not one broken or disturbed solder joint and not a single area of touch up, over spray or any other nastiness anywhere. It is a genuine ZERO issues guitar with a ultra rare, all original Daphne Blue finish that would be the envy of many a collector.
What’s more, it is also factory fitted with larger frets so it plays like an absolute demon. There is no wear on these original frets and there are no divots on the beautiful, dark rosewood fingerboard. All three, hand dated 1965 grey bottom pickups are evenly powerful and chime well with super Strat loveliness.
Included is a statement from the original owner with his name and telephone number should you wish to call him and chat about it together with some case candy from the period including 1966 tuition books, a strap, bridge cover, cleaning cloth and a repro 1965/6 Fender catalogue. Correct case is also in great shape like the rest of the guitar but typically for this period, has a bit of the logo broken off and one latch does not close.
It is a nice weight of just 3.60Kg and feels very comfortable in your hands. There is no choking of strings anywhere at all on the fingerboard and this one also happens to have a very good sustain too. Anyone wanting to pick it up and play it, we are certain will not be disappointed with it.
Very rare to see a 60’s Sonic Blue Strat. even rarer to see one in this condition and equally rare to find a genuine, verified, one owner example…!
