Rare 1965 Gibson ES-175 DN anyone? This is one of only 57 made in 1965.
In good condition, this guitar has only very light wear with only a little hint of discolouration on the bass side f hole and some minor wear to the upper bout on the back. The whole guitar has consistent colour which has evidently been well cared for, away from any serious environmental tinters.
The neck shows some dark patches that could be attributed to being left lent up a stand. Otherwise its in excellent condition. The rosewood fretboard is in good shape with plenty of life left in the original frets.
The tune o magic bridge has been replaced with a rosewood one at some stage. The tailpiece is correct. The pickups are newer Gibson humbuckers and the cut out on the neck pickup has been slightly enlarged to accommodate some other pickup that has been in there at some point.
Plastics are in good condition though the knobs do show some chipping.
The guitar comes with a later hardshell case.
The appeal of these instrument is their flexibility. They are comfortable to play with a bright and sprightly acoustic tone. Plugged in the pickups simply amplify the intrinsic timbre of the instrument without adding any unnceasssry artefacts or weighting the tone down too much. The controls interact very well.
Looking for a rare natural Gibson then look no further. This is a stunning example.
