Here's a good looking Olympic white refin Strat that has a really old (80's) refin that looks the part and sounds it too...

Sorry, this item was sold out.

1963 Fender straocaster anyone?

The body has been refinished many times. The previous owner admitted himself that he changed the colour to stop him from buying another Strat. When he first bought it in the 80s it was stripped leaving no clue as to what shade it was originally. The most striking shade has to be the metallic sherwood green that shows up in the trem cavity and where the paint has worn. It has been suggested that this guitar once belonged to Manny Charlton of Nazareth though this is hard to verify. Its current colour is nicely faded and suits the guitars history.

The neck has been coated with clear laquer by hand it seems, the original finish and decal lies underneath. Having said that the neck is still comfortable to play. It has had a refret which was done by Bill Kelday of Glasgow. The frets are in good condition with plenty of life left. The fretboard is in good shape, mostly free of any real wear.

The hardware is correct and shows signs of corrosion but all of it works really well.

The plastics are correct and as you’d expect show minor signs of usage. There is the usual crack between the neck pickup and the bass side of the pickguard as you’d expect from a guitar of this age. Other than that, it all looks very decent.

Electronically, we have three black bottom pickups with original windings, the three way switch and both tone controls are correct dated week 6 1963. The volume control is a later addition. The wiring has been tidied with the original capacitor reconnected.

The guitar comes with a hardshell case

This guitar does what you’d expect an early 60’s Strat to do. The original date stamped, 1963, classic black bottom pickups provide a warm tone across all positions, with that classic tone that you only get from a good, vintage Strat.

Bargain pre-CBS Strat with a potential rock n roll past, what ore do you want?
