1961 Gibson SG Les Paul Junior TV Yellow

We love the really rare stuff here at ATB Guitars and it does not come much rarer than this 1961 Gibson SG Les Paul TV Junior…!

All original finish, resplendent in its vibrant hue of TV yellow, this stunning raunch machine will make the dourest of dudes look uber cool. No, it is not Polaris white, it is in fact all original TV Yellow and is exactly the same finish as you see on all the Les Paul TV Specials made from 1958 through until 1961 but when did you last see one on an SG Junior style body?

This lovely example is completely unmolested, which again is rare. All hardware, electrics and finish is original, all solder joints are untouched and there are no breaks, repairs or overspray or touch ups anywhere. Just as we like them.

Weight is a very pleasant 3.02 Kg and the guitar is perfectly balanced. You will not struggle to shoulder the weight of this for an entire gig, or more.

Original frets are slightly worn in places but in our opinion, it is not in need of a refret and the fingerboard has hardly any wear at all. Finish does have a few dings here and there, it has lacquer checking in places and a small wear patch on the edge, just by the controls, on the back. Please have a look at the many pictures we have posted to see the guitar from all angles.

Sound is classic Junior sound with a nice hot, vintage P-90 you cannot go wrong really. Turn it up and it will rock with the best of them and acoustically, this one is very nice too.

We do love this one and it is rapidly becoming a firm favourite here at ATB Towers. This is the first one of these we have seen, probably in 10 years and the first we have seen that is totally original with no mods whatsoever.
