If vintage ES mojo is what you’re after, look no further! The original Gibson ES Thinline guitar, the ES-225.
Favoured by Niki Sullivan (Buddy Holly’s rhythm guitarist), this is a great way into that classic 50’s sound at a very reasonable price!
This one has lived quite the life, with some lovely lacquer checking and wear on the front. The back has got its fair share of dings and scratches, as has the neck. All original frets are in good condition with plenty of life left.
The electronics all appear to be correct, with correct pickups, pots, and original undisturbed solder joints.
All hardware is correct and present. The pickguard is correct and has been recently fitted by us. Its has warped a little but is in good condition
The fire breathing heart of these guitars is their 50s P90 pickups, they are hugely versatile and capable of things that they were never designed to do… Think classic 50s Gold Top tones at a fraction of the price! It doesn’t stop there either; the neck and the way these things play is extremely reminiscent of any Les Paul from the era, and due to the way they are constructed they’ll hold off feedback in a similar fashion to a solid body as well. However, turn the volume pot down and the guitar mellows up nicely, easily moving into jazzier territory. All in this is a fantastically versatile guitar which deserves to played… Loudly.
