Without a doubt, one of the very finest, second year Gibson Les Paul Juniors we have seen. This one comes with correct soft gator case (also near mint) and correct strap too. A beautiful and near MINT package...
Sorry, this item was sold out.
Rarely do we see 1954 or 1955 Les Paul Juniors in this condition with no bridge issues and a near mint soft case with strap. It is also a great playing example and one guitar we are going to miss around here..
1955, second year of issue, LPJ in mighty, mighty fine condition that just defies belief how such a beautiful example can survive 63 years like this. Please have a good look at the photos as if any guitar deserves to be looked at, this is one of them. It is in our opinion, quite breathtaking!
Needless to say, this near mint guitar is also 100% original or correct, not a thing has been done to it and is all original finish with no touch ups, over sprays or anything else like that. It is also one of the real nice orangey brown sunbursts that you will only see in 1954 and early 1955 and before they moved on to the more common, later yellow/black burst.
There are just a few small dings here and there, mainly around the edge on the back as you can see. Sunburst is totally unfaded - evidence of this guitars previous vampire like existence no doubt. No wear on fingerboard and original frets are almost as good as new. Tuner buttons have shrunk a bit but seem stable and work just fine.
Guitar plays with a great, low action with no evidence of any issues of a leaning bridge and no evidence of any repairs in that area either. Original P-90 is as strong as any we have heard and has that classic vintage 50’s tone that is the heart of these amazing guitars.
I think it will be a long time before we get a ‘54 or a ‘55 in this condition again. The later, yellow sunburst Juniors are a lot more common, even it very fine condition, but to see an original sunburst Junior in this amazing shape is quite something…
