Totally stunning 72 year old, all original, archtop Gibson from the the swinging 40's and with a flame maple top that would turn a 50's Les Paul green with envy...

In everyone’s opinion, who have had the pleasure to see this, it is pretty much one of THE nicest guitars we have had here, ever…
It is a beautiful, all original 1948, script logo Gibson ES-300 N finished in original blonde or natural finish with the most amazing flame maple top back and sides you are ever likely to come across on a guitar like this. It is simply stunning to look at and beautiful to play, it is also loud acoustically so if you do not fancy plugging this classic early vintage P-90 (with a DC reading of 9.06k BTW!), you can more than happily, strum away, almost like a vintage acoustic but with that Jazz tone feel and vibe.
When Gibson picked the materials for this beauty they certainly did a good selection job as you can tell from the photos, the top back and sides are very nicely flamed and beautifully ambered with age. We tried to photograph the guitar as well as we could but the flame looks a lot better in real life - come and see for yourselves.
Totally original from the headstock down to the tailpiece and to say this is in itself is a rare thing when talking about a script logo archtop. The tuners are early Klusons with no protruding shaft, the lovely but unusual tailpiece is correct and in remarkable, break free condition and even the pickguard is in superb shape with no apparent signs of gassing.
Vintage P-90 is a stonking one with a powerful output that would set a LP Junior to shame, all original windings too. Both pots are original as is all the solder plus those, far too funky for their own good, clear/gold knobs that you rarely see intact these days.
Guitar is in superb condition, almost near mint and it would be aside from some fine wonderful checking that is all over. There are a few dings here and there, a couple of small ones on the back of the neck near the top but these are pretty minor and for a 72 year old guitar, it really defies belief..!
Original frets and fingerboard have just about zero wear so this guitar plays just about as good as it did when new. Again, totally gob smacking for a 72 year old instrument.
Original case is wonderfully quaint brown case with plush deep blue lining, it does have tape around the handle as the leather probably disintegrated but it really looks the part and the blue interior sets this blonde beauty off a treat.
Dare we say it, but we think this is the finest example out there and if you are looking for a classic archtop then at this price it has got to be a vintage bargain…
