1952 Martin 0-18 + HSC
Clean, original Spruce/Mahogany 0-sized Martin. A lovely example with period features including Rosewood bridge, Maple bridge plate, Tortoise Celluloid binding and pickguard, Rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, Rosewood peghead face and Kluson large plate open back tuners.
This guitar is in very good overall condition. There is a small repair to the Spruce top near the binding towards upper bout, and a very small crack due to pickguard shrinkage, but these appear to have been well repaired and are stable. The guitar has had a neck reset and is playing very well with plenty of height on the saddle for further adjustment. There are scratches and dings commensurate with age as you can see in the photos, but overall this is a very nice example that has clearly been well cared for over the years.
The neck has a rounded medium C profile and the frets have plenty of height remaining. It's a comfortable guitar to play, the small body well suited to fingerstyle and picking, offering a focussed sound with the crisp, sparkly highs and tight lows these smaller bodied models are known for. This would make for a very good recording instrument - one that should slot nicely into a mix with minimal effort.
Overall an excellent example, complete with a soft shell case.
