About us

ATB Guitars has sold well over 5,000 rare and vintage guitars to customers all over the world, initially through eBay, under the username ‘atoyboy' and over the past 5 years directly through this website, our Facebook and Instagram pages and our Vintage and Rare and Reverb stores.

Quality and an excellent eBay reputation have assured many satisfied and repeat customers. Prices have been keen so that plenty of other dealers have taken the opportunity to bolster their own inventory. Now, via this website, you can take full advantage of this excellent service.

We only carry a small selection but all guitars are in stock, ready for immediate despatch, to virtually anywhere in the world by safe, trackable and insured courier. ATB Guitars has years of experience of safely packing delicate instruments and amplifiers, and has shipped without issue, drama or hassle, to every corner of the globe.

All instruments are available to view and play, by appointment only, in our new, spacious showroom in the centre of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, UK where we have a good selection of vintage and modern guitar amps for you to try them out through.

Terms and Conditions, Payment and p/x:

All prices are in UK GBP £ Sterling. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cash up to a value of €10,000 Euros or currency equivalent, Paypal or credit card. P/X is sometimes possible - contact us in advance for a realistic valuation of what you have. We also regularly buy guitars and complete collections for cash and have stands at a few of the UK guitar shows.

Items can be put on hold for a deposit payment of 10%. This will hold the item for 30 days but this deposit payment is non refundable in the event of the buyer failing to complete the sale. A further 10% payment at the end of the initial 30 day period will extend this period for another 30 days and subject to individual approval, this arrangement can be carried on each month for a maximum of 10 months. ATB Guitars holds title to the goods until paid for in full and if the buyer should change his/her mind for any reason, a restocking fee equivalent to up to 15% of the total purchase price will be deducted from any refund given.

All prices include UK VAT but most guitars are sold under the UK marginal scheme for secondhand goods, which means you will not get an invoice with the VAT amount shown separately, neither will you be able to claim the VAT back if you are VAT registered and the VAT element cannot be deducted for non EEC sales. EEC buyers who hold a valid VAT number in their own country can only have the VAT deducted on new items, or any items which include full UK VAT.

Do you have a mailing list?

The best way to get on our mailing list is to join by submitting the form at the bottom of every page or like our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter pages (@ATBguitars) as new items are posted there as soon as we buy them and before they go on the website. If you are searching for a specific guitar then send us an email and we will attempt to alert you once one has been found.

Do you sell on consignment?

Yes, sometimes. If you have something interesting and you would like us to sell it for you just get in touch. Rates are 10-15% of sale price if it is sold on the website. If it is sold on eBay then their fees will be in addition to this rate.

If you have bought through mail order or a website sale which requires the item to be shipped and you are not absolutely delighted with your purchase you may return it to Cheltenham, for any reason, at your own expense, within 7 days from the date of delivery for a full refund less all applicable shipping charges. The item must not have been altered or tampered with in any way, and it must arrive in the same condition as it left us. This does not apply to items inspected in person prior to shipment, items collected in person or items marked 'Sold As Is'. You are responsible for the item whilst it is in your possession and during transit back to us so full insurance is highly recommended. This does not affect your statutory rights and is our assurance, in addition to them.
