Released to commemorate their 10th Anniversary, Peach Guitars commissioned 10 Les Pauls from Gibson with a decidedly early Fleetwood Mac feel. These were in essence True Historic ‘59 reissues with some Greeny mods, 5 were aged and 5 released in VOS finish. The True Historic range, though short lived, was yet another step by Gibson to move closer to the perfect Les Paul reissue, incorporating hide glue and new formula plastics with a new nitrocellulose finish.

This example has had a visit to Yuuki McClure at Player Grade Vintage where it has undergone some further work. This includes -

    • Full pure nitrocellulose refinish, using fading analine dyes.
    • Correct light fast cherry pore filler.
    • Maple top recarve.
    • Replaced incorrect stock Gibson logo with '59 accurate pearl inlay.
    • Replaced incorrect stock inlays with aged celluloid.
    • Applied vintage correct silkscreened Les Paul MODEL logo.
    • Fitted vintage correct cream pickguard.
    • Light weather checking and play wear throughout.
    • Re stamped original factory serial number '9 6147' in correct font.

The guitar comes with its correct hardshell case

This guitar is wonderfully resonant, the Custombuckers providing the prerequisite raunch for a killer package.

    What Peach said -

How has it been 10 years already??? Peach had been going for a while before John and Alan Priest purchased the business in 2006 from the previous owner, Derek Peachey. So to celebrate we decided to work with a few of our manufacturers and collaborate on some special "Commemorative" models.

First up - we really have the guitar that started it all for JP - Peter Green was Johns first guitar idol and of course his legendary guitars status almost proceded his own reputation and we all know the story of how he sold it to Gary Moore and it's now in the posession of Kirk Hammett.

We approached Gibson to see if they could make us a guitar that encompassed the spirit and vibe of the original guitar without it being an exact replica of the Collectors Choice No 1 model and Gibson Custom have seriously come up trumps with this one. If anything this guitar is probably even closer in spec to that original guitar - as the base for this model is a True Historic '59 Les Paul, so naturally it means it's already as close as you can get to an original '59 burst. So we you add a pair of insert knobs and the out of phase, reverse mounted neck pickup, you're straight into that famous Peter Green tone.

This is as close as you can get to the real thing!

We ordered the finish to be the same as the CC#1 model - so that's Dirty Lemon Fade with a light/medium brown back.

Sperzel tuners were a no-go, so we went with our favourite Grover Models

In that middle position, you just instantly conjure up that magical Peter Green tone, just swamp it in reverb and you're there!

There's only going to be 5 in this finish.

Each guitar comes with its own limited edition Peach/Gibson Custom Certificate of authentication.
