Built by Grestch master builder Steven Stern in 2009 and pinstriped by renowned hot rod artist Junior Bo Huff, this guitar was part of a group of 40 guitars displayed at the 2010 NAMM show.
Stephen Stern is the BEST, well that’s what one forum post claims at least. Spearheading the custom shop at Gretsch for many years now, he is highly regarded amongst the guitar building community and players alike for his craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Junior Bo Huff grew up pinstriping cars and recently took over the running of his father’s, Bo Huff, shop in Utah. Bo Huff is legendary amongst the hot rod community with Junior carrying on the fine tradition.
This guitar is in great condition. The artwork is stunning, the quality so high and really accentuates the finish. This hasn't been aged and there doesn't seem to be any fading.
The neck is in superb shape with its glossyfinish. The fretboard is also in superb shape as are the frets. This guitar shows signs of great care as the headstock shows only very slight signs of wear.
The hardware on this one is exceptional. There is no real signs of wear though there is some corrosion on the pole pieces
The electronics are in good shape and have remained untouched.
The guitar comes with its correct leather covered hardshell case which has also been pinstriped.
Sonically this guitar delivers. The unamplified sound has a clear tone that really translates plugged in. Both pickups sound so wonderful, very classic Gretsch and the array of switches add to the tonal palette. The springiness of the Bigsby is also so pleasing.
If you're on the lookout for a killer looking and very rare (1 of 40) Masterbuilt Gretsch then stop immediately and get yourself over here, this may be the one for you!
