Beautiful, clean, original, Custom ordered 12-fret Martin 000-28 with shaded top. This was ordered by one of Martin's dealers at the time and as the labels reads, hand crafted by Martin for a Jaki Knowles. Full spec sheet is in the pics of this listing.

It's a wonderful instrument in stunning condition, almost mint besides some barely visible, very light polish swirls and minor dings. The appointments are very tasteful with the intricate 41 style top inlays and 45 style rosette which combine perfectly with the sunburst finish and tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard. The Ebony fingerboard is inlayed with 45 style snowflakes, and overall the appointments add up to a rather unique and visually stunning instrument. 

The longer, 12-fret body shape places the body join much closer to the centre of the guitar leading to a slightly different tonal quality compared to a 14-fret model. The sound is warm and well rounded with a noticeable emphasis on the midrange frequencies. It's a very resonant guitar with good balance across the strings. The bass is warm and rich with a nice depth and smoothness. A great guitar for fingerstyle and flatpicking, where a more nuanced, responsive tone is desired.

Playability wise the 12-fret design puts the body closer to the player's chest which for many feels more natural and comfortable. The neck is very comfortable to play and has Martin's 'modified low' profile carve. The nut width is 1,3/4 inch or 44.5mm typical of a slot headstock model, giving slightly wider string spacing perfect for fingerstyle.

All in all this is a beautiful instrument, in excellent condition complete with original case.
