1982 Custom Built Schecter (Strat style) - ex-Martin Barre Jethro Tull

Featured on a Grammy award-winning album, custom built by Charlie Chandler's, Kew Gardens, UK circa 1982 for Jethro Tull guitarist and writer Martin Barre, this is a one-off instrument and a fantastic opportunity to acquire a piece of Rock'n'Roll memorabilia of one of the most commecially successful and eccentric progressive rock bands.
Built to Martin Barre's spec, this guitar was integral to the writing, recording and touring of Grammy winning album "Crest of a Knave" by Jethro Tull, being one of the two guitars used exclusively on the album. This guitar was also used on 'Broadsword and the Beast', specifically on tracks "Pussy Willow", " Fallen on Hard Times", and others, and Martin toured with this guitar between 1982 - 1986.
It's a very well made instrument with choice tonewoods and quality hardware. The single piece Pau Ferro neck has a very comfortable medium C profile and overall it plays incredibly well. The single-coil active EMG pickups sound excellent, delivering high output and excellent clarity they're known for.
We're really pleased to offer this guitar for sale on behalf of Martin himself. It comes complete with a letter of provenance from Martin as well as a signed photo.
