1975 Guild F412, Natural + OHSC
Fantastic mid-Seventies Jumbo 12 String Guild F412 resplendent in its Natural finish. An essential for any player looking for a good 12 string the Guild F412 has been the benchmark since the late sixties. This model was used by SRV for his MTV unplugged performance in 1990.
The F412 features a spruce top with figured maple back and sides, the back of the guitar is arched and seamless. 17” across the lower bout and with a 25.5” scale length. The Neck is maple with a bound Ebony fingerboard. The oversized headstock is bound and features the iconic Guild Shield logo. Like the fingerboard, the bridge is Ebony. The neck has a wide D profile with a width at the nut of 46.79 and a roomy string spacing. Tuners are Gold pated Grovers with Guild branding.
This guitar is a well played but solid example. The body and neck display marks and bumps from use and there is pick wear to the lower edge of the sound hole rim but importantly there are no cracks to the top and the guitar is repair free aside from a small amount of binding replaced between the 5-7th fret. There is a small amount of lacquer movement by the bridge. The frets are dressed flat and have lost some height, the saddle is set at 1 and 1.5mm on the bass and treble sides. The guitar still plays well, there is plenty of projection and the guitar has the quintessential jumbo 12 string sound. The guitar comes with a period, well fitting Guild case.
