1968 Fender Vibro Champ drip edge
Fresh back from a service from Chris @ Rift Amps where he had to replace a faulty cap in the tone stack, this Vibro Champ is ready to sing and dance for you...!
Introduced in 1964 and remaining unchanged until 1982, the Vibro Champ was developed from the champ, adding an EQ section and vibrato circuit. This is from the first year of the silver panel amps and having the 'drip edge' means it is the same internally as a black face.
This is a very nice example. Fairly clean with a few marks here and there, nothing serious. The control panel is in good condition showing only slight signs of bubbling with the silk screened text still clear.
The amp is still fitted with its correct speaker. Internally, nothing much seems to have been changed. The correct output transformer is still present as are most of the other components.
As you’d hope, this amp sounds fantastic. With the volume set above half we’re straight into classic tweed territory and a sound that has to be heard to be believed. There is no doubt why this is such a lauded amp.
These don’t come up for sale very often and its been a while since we saw a drip edge so grab it before it slips away…
