2 x 1961 Celestion T530 VOX Blue Bulldog Speakers Pulsonic Cones
Celestion’s Azure Blue speakers have become iconic amongst guitarists for their tone and response. The first speaker specifically designed for guitar amplification, the T530 was introduced in 1959 as a toughened version of the G12. These became the stock speakers for both the AC15 and AC30 with silver versions, T652, being adopted by Marshall.
Both speakers are in good condition. Cosmetically there is some chipping of the paint but no sign of damage.
Both cones have the Pulsonic 1777 ink stamp and do not look to have been changed or repaired. Both gaskets are stamped dating them to between 1952 and ‘68 with these being the manila paper type which Celestion stopped using in 1966. Unfortunately, as you can see from the pictures, one serial is partially obscured. Another reads 29 EF dating it to 29th May 1961.
Both speakers are in full working order.
Classic speakers from a classic period in their manufacture. Grab them before they get away…
