1964 reverse body Gibson Firebird III in excellent condition, no breaks of course and no repairs or any other issues of any kind. Just as we like them.
Not many have survived the 60’s 70’s 80’s let alone in to the Naughties without some kind of issue which is usually the dreaded headstock break due to bad case design. This one luckily has survived and not only that, it has survived in amazing condition and without any kind of modifications or ‘upgrades’ at all. It is as some people like to call it, a true survivor.
All totally correct or original, even the original pickguard is crack free which is a pleasant surprise. Original frets and fingerboard have very little wear but it has been played a bit as evidenced by the small, minor marks on the back and a few dings around the edges.
Neck on this one is quite chunky but is very comfortable to play and with the zero wear on the frets it plays like new with a good low action and excellent intonation all the way up and down.
2 x original mini humbuckers do their job in their own inimitable way and provide a very cool, bluesy sound that is well balanced and clear. They do not have the ultimate power for the high gain brigade so certain genres of metal may not appreciate this guitar that much…
Original case is in excellent shape, just like the guitar, but does have one end of the handle broken. Please have a good look at all the pics and see for yourself the fine condition this package is in.
It is a very good day and not too often we get one of these guitars in that is so original and un repaired. Come down and try it out and compare it to our beautiful cardinal red ‘64. Both guitars are killer but this one is a fair bit cheaper…
