A beautiful, 100% original, classic and iconic, original finish Fiesta Red Fender Stratocaster from 1964. Fiesta Red is one of the most popular custom colours out there, and this has got to be one of the finest examples we have seen. The colour is vibrant, and besides a few knocks to the body the overall condition is excellent.

Starting at the top, the headstock bears the original 'spaghetti' logo, 3 pat no. decal. There's some really attractive grain in the Maple with a hint of birds-eye figuring. The finish has aged and mellowed nicely with the back of the neck taking on a really nice, slightly worn feel that many so desire. It has the correct single butterfly string tree and the tuners are original Kluson single-line that function well.

The dark Rosewood fingerboard is in very good shape and although the guitar has seen some use during its life it still retains the original frets. The C profile neck feels great having just the right amount of depth, and overall it plays very well. The 'clay' dot inlays have aged nicely too having darkened in the more used areas towards the nut. The neck is stamped Sep '63 and the truss rod functions well.

The body has some minor knocks and dings commensurate with age, but overall the condition is excellent. The white primer undercoat shows in places, the OK stamp is present in the neck pocket, partially under the red finish, with the paint stick mark present as well as the masking tape in the neck pickup cavity. Solder appears correct throughout.

Electrics are all functioning well with nothing changed. The neck pickup has the yellow date stamp as is often seen in this period, all pickups have the original windings and solder looks correct. The tone is everything you'd expect from this era. Bright, articulate, balanced and 'woody' with classic Strat character and punch. Bell like neck pickups tones, 'quacky' middle/bridge position, and very nicely rounded bridge pickup tones - cutting but soft on the top end, not harsh at all.

100% original guitars like this don't come around too often. Custom colour Strat's have proven to be excellent investments over the years and the market shows no signs of slowing down for good, clean, original examples like this. A fantastic, desirable and rare pre-CBS Strat complete with original case, tremolo arm and bridge cover.
