Martin bought this Strat around 15 years ago from Hugh Manson at Manson's Guitar Shop in Exeter. He was informed it is a Clive Brown refin and as you can expect, the fiesta finish is excellent. 

The neck has been over sprayed some time ago and a new decal has been installed. The finish feels very comfortable on the back. The fretboard is in good shape, it has been expertly re-fretted (by Hugh Manson) and there is plenty life left in the frets. 

The plastics are original aside from the pickguard which is an excellent quality repro and the back plate. Hardware is original or correct too.

The correct black bottom pickups are present as are the correct pots which are dated week 31 of 1963. The selector switch has been replaced with a five way and the back pickup looks like the solder may have been re-heated ages ago but no rewinds.

The guitar comes with a modern hard case.

Many of those classic Strat tones live in these mid-60's guitars. These guitars really deliver a fantastic tone that hasn't yet drifted too far towards the thinner end of the spectrum and still retains some of the fullness of the earlier incarnation Fender single coils.
