The true epitome of a Strat, the 1962 Fender Stratocaster...

Both the body and the neck have been refinished. The work carried out on the body to replicate the sunburst of the period is very good. No attempt has been made to relic the finish but this will undoubtedly happen over time and in fact has already started to happen to some extent. There are a few marks. Foil shielding has been removed from the cavity and there is some residue left. 

The neck has a smooth finish and is in great condition.  As you'd imagine, the decal is new but has been applied over the finish, just like they used to do. The neck has been refretted and the current frets have plenty of life left in them. The fretboard is in good shape free of any real wear. 

The hardware is all correct and shows some signs of corrosion.

The plastics are correct shows some minor signs of wear though has not shrunk too much. Some of the pickup mounting doughnuts have been replaced.

Electronically all is all correct with 1962 pots (18th week) though a couple of the solder joints have been disturbed as you would expect for a refin. 

The guitar comes with a later Fender hardshell case

This guitar does what you'd expect an early 60's Strat to do. The pickups provide a clear tone across all three positions that run the gamut from full to cutting without getting thin.

This is a great guitar that's been sympathetically refinished to a very high standard, retaining all the important features to make a great instrument and worthy investment for the tone-hound seeking that illusive sound.
