Slab board, early 1960 Fender Stratocaster in wonderfully condition featuring that charming shade of sunburst you only get on 1959 - early ‘62 Stratocasters.
Light weight and a joy to play with three totally original, classic 1960 black bottom pre-CBS pickups.
Finish has faded to this beautiful two tone sunburst due to the weak red hue that Fender used during this period. The guitar has a few battle scars and has worn in a way that sso unique to sunburst starts from this period. There is a little finish touch up on the forearm carve but there is no sign of any more elsewhere.
All hardware is totally correct and is in good condition considering. Pickups are all original formvar windings and all electrics are correct The volume pot has been changed but the tone pots are dated week 46 of 1959. The capacitor too is a reproduction. The original one is in the case but is non-functioning.
The neck has no date as was the case in mid 59 to early 1960. Its a beautiful player too with a slim, fast neck that is a real joy to handle. The original frets are low but have some life left in them.
The guitar comes with its correct brown tolex hardshell case.
As with most of these early 60’s Strats, this guitar plays and sounds totally fantastic - this one really does! Pickups are wonderfully balanced and has all the range of tones you’d expect with the added easy access to those fated ‘in-between’ sounds.
Come and try it out. I can pretty much guarantee you will not be disappointed and like us, you will fall in love with it at first sight…
