    1959 Silvertone U-1 Model 1300.

Built by Danelectro for Silvertone and famed for the masonite/poplar body construction, these guitars were sold in Sears and Roebuck, ending up in the hands of many an aspiring guitarists. In more recent times they’ve become a firm favourite of those looking for a unique voice away from the big brands.

This guitar is in good shape. Some wear near the strings thats worn through the Bronze Metallic finish but elsewhere the masonite and poplar body its in remarkably good condition.

The neck is in good condition with plenty of life left in the original frets. The iconic ‘cola bottle’ headstock still has the correct tuners and alumimin nut fitted.

Hardware is in good condition with a little minor corrosion.

Electrically everything looks untouched with the pot code reading week 51 of 1958.

Guitar comes with a soft-shell case.

This guitar has a very distinctive voice that is surprisingly compelling and a lot of fun to play. The hollow construction makes it surprisingly loud. Plugged in it sounds full with enough sustain and a roots quality to the tone.

A must for anyone looking for something a little different for the collection
