1959 Gibson LG-2, Sunburst + HSC

A famous year for Gibson, here we have a fantastic small body, X-braced LG-2. A model favoured by many over the years due to it's smaller size, balanced tone, sweet high end and crisp voice.
Sitting between the ladder braced LG-1 and the natural top X-braced LG-3 in the line up (during this period) the LG-2 has a sunburst finish, X-Braced Spruce top, Mahogany back/sides, Rosewood fingerboard, Rosewood bridge and a tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard.
This example has been used over the years and it has the wear and character in its appearance to prove it. The sunburst finish remains vibrant and the tortoishell pickguard has resisted shrinkage. There are scratches and dings throughout as you can see in the photos but for a working instrument of this age it's to be expected.
We're big fans of the LG-2 here at ATB. They make for an excellent small bodied alternative to the J-45 if you're looking for something a bit more comfortable to play and a bit more manageable in terms of tone. A great guitar for fingerstyle, and also nice strummed, this LG-2 has got you covered!
