Well this one has a story or two to tell...

This is a genuine case from a 1959 Gibson Les Paul 'Burst' in fact it is THE case for the Burst that Martin Barre played for most of the 70's and 80's before he switched to Hamer and is the burst that he is always pictured with when he is playing a Burst.

Martin told us after the success of Aqualung (which was entirely played on a Les Paul Junior), he bought three Bursts. Two of them he did not really get on with and in his words sounded dead. The third one he absolutely loved, it really sang and he toured it everywhere during Jethro Tull's heydays. This is the case it was in and when he eventually sold the Bursts this one was for some reason, not included.

The case itself is in good condition with worn road use dings etc, a few stickers and is a 5 latch Lifton just as you would expect. It does have some gaffer tape on some of the edges but it is still a sound case. Interior is very good as you can see from the pics. All latches are fine and even the lid stay still works.

The neck rest is a proper Les Paul Burst height and this is not a case for a '59 LP Special with the lower height neck rest like so many 'Burst' cases you see advertised.

Rare to see a real Burst case advertised, especially one with such cool history. It may not last long...!
