1957 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop + OHSC
We probably do not really to give this classic much of an introduction as we are sure you all know what you are looking at…
1957 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop. One of THE classics in the vintage guitar world and this one is a near mint, 100% original example. It even has the nice Cali Girl case and will not disappoint anyone who plays it.
1957 Goldtops can come in various guises - some have mahogany tops, some have black plastic but this version is one of the most coveted examples having a dark back, cream plastics and a maple top. Its serial number of 7 3964 puts it in the middle part of 1957 and it has two totally original PAF pickups with stainless steel covers and no stickers. These sound pretty special, which is apparent to anyone who has tried these early PAF’s and we will defy anyone not to have a grin on their face when they try this one out.
All hardware, all electrics, all solder and all finish are totally original. No touch ups, no over spray, nothing in the issues dept whatsoever which is ideally what you want when you are considering the considerable investment that these beautiful guitars involve. Even the case is all straight and like the guitar, is in near mint condition.
There are just a few minor marks here and there - some small marks on the back, some wear by the lower horn on the front but really, that is about it. Have a good look at the many, clear pictures we have taken to get a good idea of the condition yourself.
Original factory frets are amazingly, hardly worn and there is zero wear on the lovely rosewood fingerboard. Action is superb with no neck or truss rod issues and we will guarantee that if you are going to play it, you will not be disappointed :-)
All together a stunning package and a near mint example of one of the most desirable vintage guitars on the planet and despite the not inconsiderable price, this investment grade example will probably will not last too long…
