A beautiful 100% original, gravity defying (under 3Kg..!!), second year 1955 Gibson Les Paul Junior anyone?

Born from a desire to provide a no-frills yet well constructed alternative to the company’s other offerings, the Les Paul Junior proved popular with professional as well as students who appreciated primal nature of the instrument. The Single Cut incarnation is held in high regards by many who feel that the larger joint between the neck and the body improves transfer of vibration from the strings and aides sustain. The combined with a single P90 makes for a potent combo.

This one has so few dinks its hard to believe. The finish has retained its vibrancy, and is a glorious 2 tone sunburst just like it should be. The back has barely any marks with the lacquer still glossy. There's a wonderful depth to the colour which accentuates the grain.

The neck too has retained its wonderful glossy finish and is again almost entirely mark free aside from a few dings here and there, mainly on the back. The fretboard shows no signs of wear, and the original frets have barely been tickled making sure that that this is going to be a great playing guitar for years to come. The headstock has is break free and just look at how clean the edges are - we rarely see this on Juniors of any era.

The tuners and all the hardware are in superb condition  with hardly any wear at all. The plastics are in good order too showing no sign of the passing of time. The original tailpiece has no lean at all and we think this may be one of the first to have the slightly longer studs making it a pretty desirable Junior.

Electronically everything is original and looks great, with the renowned “grey tiger” capacitor dominating the control cavity. The original vintage P90 pickup is still present and sings with a very healthy output.

What can we say about these guitars that you won’t already know. Incredibly versatile for an instrument with so few options. The controls are very interactive, coaxing out a wide palette of tones. The neck is very comfortable and combined with the newer frets makes this a very nice guitar to play. These guitars are incredibly popular for a reason.

We can’t get enough of these guitars. It is rare to come across one from 1955 with zero issues that is this clean. They are very popular and never really disappoint in the tone department so get yours before it slips away...
