1952 Fender Super Amp 5B4
Initially dubbed the Dual Professional, the twin speaker Super was first released under this moniker in 1947 and produced in this format until 1952 with three revisions.. It's supposed to have been a favourite design of Leo’s and Fender’s first step into professional amplification.
Recently re-covered, this amp really looks the part. Handle is also a replacement. The faceplate is in great condition with some corrosion but the decal is still clear.
Internally there have been some repairs. Output transformer has been changed as have the filter caps along with a few other components also having been updated to keep the amp working correctly.. The speakers are Celestion Gold.
If you’re looking for something a little different this would certainly fit the bill. The pair of 10” speakers helps focus the sound and there seems to be more headroom than you'd think before things get gnarly. Plenty of lushious Fender tone on tap.
Early 50’s tweed tone at a competitive price, what more do you need?
